SEARCCT’s first MTCP programme for 2019 was on CBRNE and it was held from 16 to 25 July 2019 at Melia Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This annual programme gathered 17 foreign participants from MTCP-recipient countries namely, Algeria, Bhutan, Dominican Republic, Georgia, Kiribati, Malawi, Mauritius, Oman, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia.

SEARCCT’s CBRNE trainers shared their knowledge on various CBRNE topics and emphasised the significance of understanding the role of each agency, and the need for swift multi-agency coordination in the event of a CBRNE incident. Participants were also given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with CBRNE detection equipment and procedures involved as first responders. This enabled participants to have hands-on experience on top of their theoretical and practical knowledge of Malaysia’s best practices.
